Teaching Methods
According to the ESE-IPS pedagogical model, student-centered teaching involves active learning, assuming that students “learn based on what they do [what they think, what they relate, what they question...] and that learning implies changes in their goals, knowledge, and abilities, largely determined by the learning scenarios and experiences that are created” (p.18). This is indeed the methodology that this course unit seeks to follow, as it promotes research laboratories, field classes, and social experimentation in public spaces, as well as seminars, visits, and workshops with experts who bring their knowledge and experience on the various topics covered in the program. There is also room in the classes for experimenting with interpersonal development techniques in groups, simulations of expressive and artistic techniques, and reports on the respective experiences to identify and understand the difficulties, advantages, and possibilities for mobilization for the Sociocultural Animator. Given the academic context, this is also done using texts and other audiovisual materials to support understanding of the concepts and their relationship with lived experience. It is also essential that, throughout the course, students develop a research process focused on gathering information and critically analyzing a network of social cohesion and solidarity: objectives, work dynamics, and the framework for the intervention of the Sociocultural Animator.

Content Explanation
This course aims to deepen students' understanding of concepts related to the knowledge and organization of human groups and institutions. This topic, although previously addressed in the Interpersonal Relations course, is revisited here with other study and intervention techniques with which they have not been exposed, expanding their knowledge of personal and social resources for thinking and acting in a network. Interpersonal relationships are explored, considering them in their current dimension, requiring the creation of diverse forms of connection between spaces, communities, and people, capable of mobilizing civil society for the development of cohesion and social solidarity. The area of social networks is addressed conceptually and from a multidimensional perspective, deepening the most significant social dimensions for the future profession, notably municipal social networks, the importance of group therapies, and expressive and artistic group therapies.
-
Methodology Explanation
The methodology allows students to grasp theoretical concepts - presented through lectures, reading and discussion of reference texts, as well as experiential experimentation with some techniques and methods of sociocultural intervention in networks. It also proposes conceptual contextualization in the professional area of the course through various assignments and experiences developed in class. There is thus a relationship between what is being built in class and what is requested and translated into assessment through the use of the portfolio. Given that existing experiences and practices in the field are also valued, research is also requested to demonstrate this ability to understand and problematize a network of social cohesion and solidarity and, through this, to demonstrate an understanding of the proposed concepts. The assignments are proposed to students as the program develops, thus allowing the assessment to be built around these products, which are fully shared and discussed in class.
